Bob Gray
Estimator | Principle
Bob has been a superintendent, chief estimator, project manager and personnel manager. He has been owner and manager of his own company since 1964.
Bob’s valuable knowledge of estimating, phasing, construction techniques, pre-fabrication, value engineering and subcontractor base will add value to any project. He will help to analyze materials, and material values, joinery, and constructability options for each project.
An innovative concrete bent system developed by Bob used at our award-winning Edward F. Stevens Center at George Fox University and Tigard H.S. Stadium reduced costs and accelerated both project schedules.
Bob is a frequent visitor to job sites contributing his experience, critical eye, and opinions to quality control. His in-depth project experience on a broad array of projects gives Bob thorough knowledge of building throughout every step of the process.
AJ Michaud
Project Manager
AJ has been working with the company since 2004.
AJ handles submittals and change order requests, RFIs and organizes record drawings as well as completing daily job logs. He assists superintendents with material procurement and deliveries.
He has helped complete many projects, a few are the MET Community Center and Durham Education Center. He was the project manager for the fast track completion LBCC Innovation Center and THPRD Fanno Creek Service Center.
In 2019 he helped complete work on a similar metal building for Molalla Public Works Maintenance Facility and an 24,000 SF industrial building in Tualatin.
John Gray
Chief Operations Officer
John has been working with the company since 1979.
John has a Bachelor Degree in Business. He was a Linfield University graduate in 1986.
He was an NAIA Division 2 National champion in 1984. He appreciates the daily variety of work that R. A. Gray construction provides.
Shane Hoogendam
Lead Welder
Shane has been working with the company since 1994.
He has been welding since 1995 and has been the lead welder since 2009. Shane enjoys the architectural and structural aspects of the jobs R. A. Gray Construction presents him.
Some of Shane’s favorite projects with the company are the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Multnomah Bible College and a remodel job at George Fox University in Newberg.
Shane has stayed with the company because there is always something different to do, it’s “not assembly line” work.
David Schiedler
Superintendent
David has been working with the company since 2015.
Some of David’s favorite projects with the company are the Muslim Education Center, Molalla Pedestrian Bridge and the Stayton Bridge. He enjoys the way the way the structures are assembled and the placement of the large beams.
David has stayed with the company because he enjoys the comradery the employees have together.
Ralph Garcia
Superintendent
Ralph has worked with the company since 1980.
He started as a laborer in 1995 and worked his way into a Supervisor position.
One of Ralph’s favorite projects is St. Francis Church. Tilt ups are one of Ralph’s favorite building types.
He has stayed with the company because, “Bob keeps us working” and “Our company is a family-oriented company”.
Tony daSilva
Superintendent
Tony has been working with the company since 2000.
He started as a laborer and worked his way up to superintendent.
One of Tony’s favorite projects was OSU stadium because the soffits were fun and challenging. He also remembers the Broadway Rose project as he was able to work with his father and the end product was a great reward.
Tony enjoys working for R. A. Gray because, “Its more than a job, it’s a family here”.
